RECESS-UTHM and JKR-CREaTE have done research on soil structure in Pontian district. The preliminary test start on 19-23rd June 2019 involving Seismic Test, GPR and Resistivity from 10 pm to 5 am.
This study was made to overcome the problem of sedimentary roads from Pontian to Pineapple Town due to the roads being built on soft peat soil. This causes JKR to make very frequent maintenance.
Hopefully with the help of RECESS and CREaTE, the government can find more effective measures to solve the long-standing sedimentary road problems that interfere with the safety and comfort of road users in the Pontian district.
